Absolutely correct on both counts. I have worn them to bed and they definitely do make a difference after a hard training session. It is difficult to precisely describe what they do when you are going hard in the gym or on the road. The best way to say it is that you have less burn and fatigue. One suggestion - without sizing in inches: I have 18.5 inch calves and to me compression works best with adequate pressure. I am using the "large" sizing and they are a good fit. I would imagine that you should go a size lower than what you think you need to make sure you get the full benefits of compression. If its loose you will be giving ANY compression product a low rating since it is just not able to do its job. This sleeve is awesome! It saved me! I have horrible shin splints in my left shin and this sleeve has helped alleviate the pain as well as preventing (in my opinion) more damage. I was a week away from running my first 1/2 marathon and I didn't think I was going to be able to do it because of my awful shin splints but because of this sleeve I was able to run it and run it with no pain. Admittedly, I don't see a sizing chart anywhere on the current listing via my iPad; however, I ordered the smallest size available... A small. My calf measures at 13.5-14 inches, and this sleeve doesn't feel much tighter than some of my running pants. I wish an extra small option had been offered. I bought two of these and will now be returning the one I haven't used.If you wear a small, do not order this product. If you wear larger sizes, be sure to order a size down. Airwalk - Viva Airwalk I bought these shoes when they were a lightning deal, so I got them for pretty cheap. For the price I paid, they were worth it. I'm a nurse so I'm constantly on my feet at work. I wear these sneakers to work about half the time and my feet never hurt. I don't feel like they were effective at improving my rear but the soles of my feet are pretty happy. I had read that they run a little small, so I ordered a 9 even though I wear an eight and a half. I'm glad I did, they fit perfectly. They are not the best looking sneakers but they are better than most Shape Ups and I don't feel like Frankenstein when I wear them. Overall, I'm happy that I got them on sale but would never pay full price for them.

These shoes are nice an stiff but definitely still sensitive enough to feel what's going on under foot. Plus, I love the fact that they don't look like your typical cycling shoes. They are really well made, super comfy (true to size) and I love the velcro strap. I have been wearing 5.10 climbing shoes for many years but this is my first pair of their MTB shoes. I should have known they would be the best. Definitely a great shoe.

They protect her feet and yet have vents. Also, she can't step out of them while walking (like the other brand with velcro). I Run This Birdman These are very comfortable when standing still, so for cashiers, these shoes could be a great purchase. For walking, however, they're actually hard to keep on, so the muscles in my feet cramp when trying to keep them from slipping off. And I thought they'd be kind of cute, but they are definitely not. They look like geriatric shoes. The wide width is very good, though.

I Run This Birdman Lately, life has me working 5.15b R/X. I picked up these seemingly gimmicky climbing kicks to assuage curiosity on the cheap (50% off!!!). This review is strictly based on fit. Prior to pulling the trigger on the Rock Wrench I did a little research on the obvious climbing gear retailer sights. Some people claimed the sizing to be right on, others found it to be inconsistent with other 5.10 shoes. I purchased the Rock Wrench one half size smaller than my approach shoe size--that is, I wear a size 10 5.10 Exum approach shoe, and went with the 9.5. Initially they were amazingly tight. Despite what the manufacturer claims, synthetic uppers do stretch. I crammed a couple sock into the toe box of each shoe, let them sit for a week, and tried them on again--like a glove. Do not size these shoes up! Pain doesn't have to exist in the dojo, but slop has no place in climbing.
